Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Remly diary app for Android. Please read them carefully before using the app.

Effective: October 26, 2026 Last updated: October 26, 2026 Applies to: Remly for Android

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you and Remly ("Remly", "we", "us" or "our") and apply when you download, install, access or use the Remly diary app for Android and any related features or services we make available (together, the "App").

By using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App. If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, or at least 16 years old where the law of your country requires a higher age for digital consent. If you are below the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you will comply with applicable laws.

3. The app and your license

Subject to these Terms, Remly grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the App on devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law or you have our written permission. You may not use the App in a way that interferes with its operation or with other users.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the journal entries, photos, audio recordings, drawings, reminders and other content that you create or store in the App ("Your Content"). These Terms do not transfer ownership of Your Content to Remly.

You grant Remly a limited license to process, store, transmit and display Your Content only as necessary to provide the App and the features you choose, including displaying entries on your device, creating and restoring backups through your Google Drive account, and exporting files at your request. This license ends when you stop using the relevant feature, subject to the retention described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring that you have the rights needed to use it. Do not upload or store content that infringes someone else's rights, violates the law, or contains harmful material.

Keep your own records. The App is a personal journal, not a guaranteed archive. Back up important content and keep independent copies. Remly is not responsible for content that is lost because of device failure, accidental deletion, account issues or other events outside our reasonable control.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing or abusive purpose;
  • upload or share content that infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights, or that contains illegal material;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other users' content, or any related system or network;
  • interfere with or disrupt the App, its security features or its availability;
  • use automated means to access the App in a way that imposes an unreasonable load or bypasses technical limits;
  • misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person; or
  • use the App in a way that violates Google Play policies or applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or that your use presents a risk to Remly, our users or third parties.

6. Remly Pro and purchases

Remly may offer optional paid features or subscriptions ("Remly Pro"). Purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms, payment policies and refund policies. The price, billing period and any free trial or promotional offer are shown before you complete a purchase.

Payment is charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Prices are displayed in the currency shown by Google Play, and applicable taxes may be added based on your location. Refunds are handled by Google Play in accordance with its policies and applicable law.

Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date through your Google Play account. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund prior charges unless required by law or Google Play policy. Deleting the App, deleting your journal data or signing out of Remly does not cancel an active subscription; you must cancel it through Google Play.

Free trials

If a free trial is offered, the terms of the trial will be shown at sign-up. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription may begin and the applicable price will be charged. Trial eligibility and duration may vary.

Changes to paid features and prices

We may add, change or discontinue paid features. We may also change subscription prices. Where required by law or Google Play policy, Google Play will notify you of a price change and obtain your consent before the new price takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the change applies. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this section.

7. Advertising

The App may display advertising through third-party advertising services. Ads help support the free version of the App. We do not control the content of third-party ads and are not responsible for the products or services advertised. Your interactions with advertisers are between you and the advertiser.

Where required by law, we ask for your consent before using personal data for personalized advertising. You can manage ad personalization through your device settings and, where available, the in-app privacy options.

8. Third-party services

The App uses third-party services for functions such as Google Sign-In, Google Drive backup, Google Play purchases, analytics, crash reporting and advertising. Your use of those services is subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policy. Remly is not responsible for the availability, content or practices of third-party services.

If you sign in with Google to use backup, you authorize Remly to access the private application folder used for your backups, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can revoke this access through your Google Account settings.

9. Intellectual property

The App, including its name, logo, design, graphics, text, software and other materials (but excluding Your Content), is owned by Remly or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Remly's trademarks, logos or branding except as part of your permitted use of the App.

You may not use Remly's name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our prior written consent.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the App available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The App may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, network problems or events outside our control.

We may update, modify or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. Where a change materially affects paid features, we will provide notice where required by law. We encourage you to keep backups of important content and to install updates when available.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will meet your requirements, that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any content will be preserved without loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remly and its officers, employees, agents and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remly's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Remly through Google Play for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) the minimum amount required by applicable law.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or intentional misconduct.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Remly and its officers, employees, agents and suppliers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of another person.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time and may uninstall it from your device. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms or if we are required to do so by law or by a service provider.

If your access is terminated, the license granted in these Terms ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including sections about your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law, will continue to apply.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to you, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Vietnam.

Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory laws in your country of residence, including your right to bring a claim before a competent local authority where the law allows it. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice in the App or on this website where appropriate. The updated Terms take effect when posted, unless a later date is stated. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
